Q: Do I need a driving licence to use a mobility scooter?
A: No you do not need a driving licence to drive a mobility scooter
Q: Do I need insurance to drive a mobility scooter?
A: No but it is recommended and if you would like we can offer more information at your demonstration or over the phone.
Q: Can I see your scooters in a shop?
A: Unfortunately not, due to the decline in the high street our range will not be featuring in local shops, the range is available to view in your own home or at our head office showroom just outside of Manchester. Please contact us for more information.
Q: Where can I drive my scooter?
A: You can drive your scooter on any public footpath or pavement providing you are driving at a maximum speed of 4mph. You can also drive your scooter in shopping centres and inside some shops and supermarkets again providing you are travelling at a suitable speed of less than 4mph.
Q: Can I drive my scooter on the road?
A: The only scooter suitable to drive on the road in our range is the Genuis Executive 8
Q: Do I need a tax disc?
A: The only scooter which requires a tax disc in our range is the Genius Executive 8. It is free to obtain a tax disc for this scooter.
Q: Do I qualify for VAT relief?
A: You are eligible to pay NO VAT on a mobility scooter if you have a long term illness or disability such as; Arthritis, Joint replacement/s, Heart conditions, Stroke, Diabetes, etc. You do not need a blue badge to enable you to be eligible for VAT relief.
Q: Can I keep my scooter outside?
A: Yes, most people keep their scooter in a shed or garage. We also sell a storage shelter designed for mobility scooters.
Q: How do I charge the battery on my scooter?
A: Charging your scooter is very easy, simply use the power cable provided which plugs into the scooter and the other end plugs into the mains. You can use an extension lead if your scooter is outside and you have no power in your garage or shed.
